BitMart is winding down operations, but users are reporting something much more concerning: withdrawals that remain blocked, inaccessible funds, unpaid employee claims, and growing demands for an independent audit.
In this video, I go through the reports surrounding BitMart, the founder’s response to the allegations, the deleted or compromised X account, the reported August 26 final trading day, and the questions users are asking about liquidity, reserves, and whether everyone will actually get their crypto back.
One former user publicly asked, “Where is my $10 million?” while on-chain investigator ZachXBT also pushed for funds to simply be returned if the liquidity is there. We also look at reports of a restructuring offer, the possibility of legal or regulatory escalation, and why the exchange website can still appear inviting while operations are reportedly winding down.
The bigger lesson is one I keep repeating: an exchange is not a bank. Use exchanges to buy, sell, or trade — then move your crypto to a wallet where you control the private keys. Extra APR is not worth taking unnecessary custody risk if an exchange suddenly freezes withdrawals or fails.
