The Next Generation of Home Bitcoin Mining Is Here
The next generation of home Bitcoin mining is here. The new BM1373 ASIC chip is making its way into home Bitcoin miners, and the performance leap over the BM1370 found in miners like the Bitaxe Gamma is massive.
In this video, I put the Bitfortun BS-1 to the test. Out of the box, its single BM1373 ASIC is capable of around 5.5 TH/s, compared with roughly 1.1 TH/s from a stock Bitaxe Gamma 601. But that’s only part of the story.
I use my auto-overclocking tool to find out how far we can push the BM1373, reaching an incredible 7.4 TH/s from a single ASIC chip. Then we go in the opposite direction and tune for efficiency, dropping power consumption dramatically while achieving under 11 J/TH.
We’ll look at the evolution from the BM1370 to BM1373, compare this new generation with the Bitaxe Gamma, explore performance vs. efficiency, and talk about what these new chips could mean for the future of home and solo Bitcoin mining.
