The Bitfortun BS-2 is rated around 8.5 TH/s, but while testing the stock firmware I started seeing numbers that simply did not add up. The dashboard was reporting 11.17 TH/s, the raw local API was reporting only around 4.29 TH/s, and at one point the local API was showing roughly 2.6 TH/s even when the miner wasn’t properly connected to a pool or doing valid mining work.
So instead of trusting what the miner told me, I put it through a full 24-hour controlled hashrate audit and compared the stock firmware against Harlo Labs Harlo-OS 0.1.49 using the same miner, the same 625 MHz frequency, and the same fixed share difficulty of 17,962.
The stock firmware produced 8.589 TH/s of independently verified pool-side work at 155.7W, while the Harlo Labs firmware produced 8.565 TH/s at 156.4W. But raw performance is only part of the story. The real question is how closely each firmware’s reported hashrate matches the work that actually reaches the pool.
This test also follows what we previously discovered on the smaller Bitfortun BS-1, where Harlo Labs identified roughly a 400 GH/s dashboard boost. That discovery is what pushed me to start independently verifying these miners rather than simply trusting the numbers shown on their screens.
