The Hammer DC08 is advertised as a 480 MH/s Scrypt ASIC miner for Litecoin (LTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE). Its stock THOR OS dashboard reported around 476 MH/s, but our independent Rabid Mining Hub audit revealed a completely different story!
❌ **STOCK THOR OS RESULTS**
• Rabid mining audit: ~112 MH/s
• Rabid Pool SOLO: ~113 MH/s
• ViaBTC: ~68 MH/s during a shorter test
• 2.2 hardware errors for every valid share at 2300 MHz
• Lowering to 2000 MHz reduced errors by over 80%, but pool performance remained around 130 MH/s
We spent hours troubleshooting our independent Stratum audit system, adjusting difficulty, share validation, and duplicate handling. We even tested different mining pools to rule out problems with Rabid Pool.
Nothing got the stock firmware anywhere near its advertised performance.
Then Harlo Labs released new firmware!

Harlo Labs dramatically improved the mining results and reporting accuracy, but we’re still nowhere near the advertised 480 MH/s!
The near-24-hour audit ended INCONCLUSIVE because a firmware-name reporting change triggered an identity guard near completion, although the accepted mining work and local reported hashrate were closely aligned.
We also compare the DC08’s price, performance, and efficiency against the **Fluminer L2**, which offers significantly more Scrypt hashrate for the money based on the prices discussed.
