I Rented Thousands of Bitcoin Miners for 2 Hours
What if instead of running a small Bitcoin miner for years hoping to find a block, you could rent a massive amount of Bitcoin mining hashrate for just a couple of hours?
In this video, I try Braiins Solo and the Braiins Hashpower Marketplace to see what it’s like to rent SHA-256 mining power instead of owning the hardware producing it.
I start by renting 1.8 PH/s through the Braiins Solo app to solo mine Bitcoin. Then I take things much further by renting around 10 PH/s through the Hashpower Marketplace and pointing it directly at my Bitcoin Cash solo mining pool.
For perspective, 10 PH/s is 10 quadrillion hashes every second. In just two hours, that’s roughly the same number of hashing attempts a single stock Bitaxe Gamma would make running continuously for more than two years.
I also take a look at how the Braiins Hashpower spot market works, Hashpower Contracts, and the pros and cons of renting hashrate versus running your own solo mining hardware.

⚠️ Solo mining is probabilistic. Renting more hashrate increases the number of attempts you make, but there is no guarantee you’ll find a block or recover the money spent renting hashrate.
