{"id":10015,"date":"2025-01-28T08:04:57","date_gmt":"2025-01-28T08:04:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=10015"},"modified":"2025-01-28T08:04:57","modified_gmt":"2025-01-28T08:04:57","slug":"tuttle-capital-proposes-first-ever-leveraged-etfs-of-trump-melania-cardano-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=10015","title":{"rendered":"Tuttle Capital Proposes First-Ever Leveraged ETFs of TRUMP, MELANIA, Cardano, Others"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Exchange-traded fund (ETF) provider Tuttle Capital Management is \u201ctesting the waters\u201d of the crypto-friendly Trump administration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1771146\/000199937125000689\/crypto-485apos_012725.htm\" target=\"_blank\">ten 2x leveraged ETF proposals<\/a> to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Monday, including those tracking Donald and Melania Trump\u2019s official memecoins.<\/p>\n<p>Tuttle proposed the first-ever ETFs tracking 200% returns of the following tokens: Chainlink (LINK), Cardano (ADA), Polkadot (DOT), Melania (MELANIA), XRP (XRP), Bonk (BONK), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC), and Trump (TRUMP).<\/p>\n<p>The daily performance returns of these tokens will be tracked and generated through swaps, call options, and direct investments, per the filing. However, investors are at the chance of losing their entire capital should prices drop significantly due to the leveraged nature of these products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsing leverage amplifies returns but also magnifies losses, with investors potentially losing their entire principal within a single trading day if the underlying asset\u2019s value drops by more than 50%,\u201d the filing warned.<\/p>\n<p>Although 50% drops are rare, altcoin markets are infamous for suddenly dropping 10% during times of market stress, as they did on Monday. A 10% slide would mean the ETFs drop at least 20%, before fees.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JSeyff\/status\/1883983059210657909\" target=\"_blank\">said in an X post<\/a> the filings were likely a test of what the Trump administration may allow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a case of issuers testing the limits of what this SEC is going to allow,\u201d Seyffart said. \u201cI&#8217;m expecting the new crypto task force (led by @HesterPeirce) to likely be the lynchpin in determining what&#8217;s gonna be allowed vs what isn&#8217;t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA 2x Melanie ETF (sic) before a 1x Melania ETF has been filed.
