Former FTX Exec Goes From LinkedIn To LockedIn<\/h2>\n

Ryan Salame, former co-chief executive officer at FTX Digital Markets, took to LinkedIn to share his new status with his colleagues. In a bizarre update<\/a>, the former FTX executive \u201chappily\u201d announced his new position as an inmate at FCI Cumberland.<\/p>\n

Salame also updated his profile to add \u201ccleaning and whittling\u201d as his new skill set. The \u201cbanger post,\u201d as Alex Lieberman called it, quickly gathered the community\u2019s attention, with many sharing<\/a> playful and witty responses to the peculiar post.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom LinkedIn to LockedIn,\u201d read one of the replies. Another response jokingly remarked that the executive went from \u201cblockchains to being in chains,\u201d while another replied that Salame \u201cdoesn\u2019t want any gap on his resume.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former FTX executive also took X to lament losing his Wordle streak as he prepares for his 7.5-year prison sentence<\/a>, scheduled to start on October 11. He acknowledged the virality of his post, noting he \u201clearned that people still use LinkedIn\u201d yesterday.<\/p>\n

US Judge Denies Request For Surrender Date Delay<\/h2>\n

According to court documents, Salame\u2019s team requested another delay to his surrender date. The Wednesday court filing asked US Judge Lewis A. Kaplan to push the report date<\/a> from October 11 to December 7, citing the need to \u201ccontinuing medical treatment deemed necessary by his treating physician to recover from the injuries sustained on or about June 19, 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n

In June, the former FTX executive suffered a dog bite injury to the face, which led to his original prison report date being pushed from August 29 to this Friday as he had to undergo the necessary medical treatment and surgery.<\/p>\n

Federal prosecutors slammed Salame\u2019s petition in a letter<\/a> sent to the judge on Thursday, arguing that the \u201celeventh-hour request\u201d didn\u2019t offer a compelling justification to extend his surrender date a second time.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the prosecutors highlighted that Salame\u2019s previous request was granted before he admitted to lying under oath.\"FTX\"<\/p>\n

As reported by Bitcoinist, Judge Kaplan expressed<\/a> his frustration at the former FTX executive for providing a \u201cfalse testimony\u201d during his guilty plea in 2023. The US judge also threatened to impose sanctions on Salame during the September court hearing.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the court\u00a0denied<\/a>\u00a0Salame\u2019s surrender date request, largely agreeing with the prosecutors\u2019 argument suggesting \u201cthe outlined medical treatment\u2014which follows already-completed necessary medical treatment and surgery\u2014seems largely cosmetic and nonurgent.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a result, Judge Kaplan concluded that Salame must surrender today, no later than 2:00 pm, as scheduled.<\/p>\n
