The data highlight the fund\u2019s evolving indirect bitcoin exposure, growing from just 796 BTC in in 2020.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.sanity.io\/images\/s3y3vcno\/production\/41c17a64a57612fccd750081e01becf088c4eb67-2544x1604.png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>NBIM also maintains stakes in a number of crypto-related public companies. As of year-end 2024, its holdings included a 0.72% stake in MicroStrategy (MSTR), <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BitcoinMagazine\/status\/1884901420677386243\" target=\"_blank\">equivalent of $500 million<\/a>, 1.1% of Tesla (TSLA) and investments in Coinbase (COIN), Metaplanet (3350) and MARA Holdings (MARA).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.sanity.io\/images\/s3y3vcno\/production\/ce74ed92cf20bc304a8cff3377e83476635ab7fe-2514x1640.png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>NBIM, which invests revenue from Norway\u2019s oil and gas resources and is officially known as the Government Pension Fund Global, reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/01\/29\/worlds-largest-sovereign-wealth-fund-reports-222-billion-profit.html\" target=\"_blank\">record annual profit of $222.4 billion<\/a>, driven primarily by the artificial intelligence (AI) boom.<\/p>\n<p>K33 analyst Vetle Lunde makes the point that NBIM&#8217;s indirect bitcoin exposure is likely a result of sector-weighted portfolios.
