Earlier in January 2025, Vitalik Buterin released a <a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/vitalik.eth.limo\/general\/2025\/01\/23\/l1l2future.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener nofollow\">blog post<\/a> outlining a strategy for scaling Ethereum. He emphasized the growth of layer-2 solutions, blob scaling, and reinforcing Ethereum as the ecosystem\u2019s primary economic driver.<\/p>\n<p>Vitalik wants faster adoption of L2 networks to improve transaction fees and capacities. He highlighted the need for greater teamwork among L2s so Ethereum users feel that they are interacting with \u201ca single ecosystem, not 34 different blockchains.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Pectra upgrade will go live in March 2025, doubling the capacity of L-2s.
