While some might have thought that his positive approach was just another way to gather more voters, the new political leader of the States proved those wrong.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">During the first weeks after assuming office at the White House, Trump <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/trumps-digital-asset-executive-order-heres-whats-inside\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">signed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> an executive order titled \u201cStrengthening American Leadership in Digital Financial Technology.\u201d He also reportedly <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/trump-plans-to-designate-crypto-as-a-national-priority-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">plans<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to establish a cryptocurrency advisory council.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/02\/04\/business\/everyone-in-crypto-begging-for-a-spot-on-trump-advisory-council\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">coverage by<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the New York Post, the group might consist of well-known names that are <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">part of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the digital asset industry, such as Ripple\u2019s CEO Brad Garlinghouse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The advisors\u2019 main role will be to create a comprehensive regulatory framework for the sector and work closely with Trump and David Sacks (who the president <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/donald-trump-appoints-david-sacks-as-cryptocurrency-and-ai-czar\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">tapped<\/a> to serve as cryptocurrency and AI \u201cczar\u201d).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Garlinghouse\u2019s potential involvement with the White House could be a game-changer for Ripple\u2019s native token<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> \u2013 <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">XRP.\u00a0<\/span>After all, he could insist on clearer guidelines for the asset, which has been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-v-sec-lawsuit-heres-what-happened-in-january\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">targeted<\/a> by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for years.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Those following the development of the cryptocurrency industry in the past several years must be aware that the watchdog sued Ripple in December 2020 over allegations that the company conducted an unregistered securities offering by selling XRP. The eventual outcome of the tussle could remove the legal uncertainty surrounding the token and <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">be interpreted<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> as a <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">major<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> bullish factor (assuming the resolution favors Ripple).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is worth mentioning that Garlinghouse and Trump have already broken the ice between each other. Last month, Ripple\u2019s CEO and <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">the company\u2019s<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> CLO, Stuart Alderoty, <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-executives-meet-donald-trump-at-mar-a-lago-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">had<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> a dinner meeting with the president at his Mar-a-Lago estate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A few weeks later, Garlinghouse <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bgarlinghouse\/status\/1883995317835817456\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">claimed<\/a> the possible US strategic Bitcoin reserve should be composed of additional assets, urging Trump to add XRP.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cIf a govt digital asset reserve <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">is created<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. I believe it should <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">be representative of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the industry, not just one token (whether it be BTC, XRP, or anything else).
