After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/startups\/25\/02\/43463099\/donald-trumps-25-tariff-plan-only-tough-measures-will-level-the-playing-field-kevin-oleary-explains-the-strategy\">President<strong> Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>&#8216;s election, the cryptocurrency surged past <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/12\/4\/24303204\/bitcoin-price-hit-100000\">$100,000 in December<\/a>, fueled by expectations of pro-crypto policies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But when Trump announced plans to impose steep tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China, <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-91k-dip-trump-tariffs-macro-sensitivity\">Bitcoin&#8217;s value dipped below $91,000<\/a>\u2014its lowest in three weeks.
