Bitcoin is emerging as a \u201cgenerational opportunity\u201d as shifting trade policies under Donald Trump and economic uncertainty create the perfect storm for investors, according to executives at Bitwise Asset Management.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe world is literally on the brink of max chaos,\u201d Jeff Park, Bitwise\u2019s head of alpha strategies, said <\/span>in a 16 February 2025 post on X<\/span><\/a>. He pointed to growing deglobalization trends and the Republican budget plan, which proposes raising the debt ceiling by $4 trillion to expand government spending. <\/span><\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s push for reciprocal tariffs has further fueled concerns about economic instability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Markets Are Heading Toward Extreme Volatility<\/span><\/h2>\n

Park warned that the markets are heading toward extreme volatility, citing potential risks including a \u201cgold run tail risk,\u201d unprecedented Republican-backed tax cuts worth up to $4.5 trillion, and the possibility of yield curve control (YCC). <\/span><\/p>\n

YCC, a policy where central banks cap long-term interest rates to encourage borrowing and investment, could signal a shift toward looser monetary policies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite speculation about Federal Reserve intervention, Fed Chair Jerome Powell indicated on Feb. 11 that there is no urgency to adjust interest rates. <\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking before<\/span> the Senate Banking Committee, Powell reaffirmed that the U.S. economy remains strong, downplaying expectations of imminent rate cuts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley echoed Park\u2019s optimism about Bitcoin\u2019s future. In a Feb. 16 post, he wrote, \u201cPeople are wildly underestimating the massive leaps Bitcoin <\/span>is going to<\/span> take into the mainstream this year. Never been more optimistic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
