Dogecoin said, e<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">asy, you have both.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DOGE began in 2013 as a joke between software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer as a means of making fun of <a href=\"https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/news\/mooshots-explosive-presale-why-this-ai-powered-memecoin-could-go-to-the-moon\/\">wild speculation<\/a> in cryptocurrencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dogecoin instantly exploded on Reddit, generating a market value of $8 million at the time. And just like that, Dogecoin began to receive massive attention from social media and influencers, including Mark Cuban, Guy Fieri, and Snoop Doggy Dog. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sudden claim to fame propelled its price to a whopping $0.73 by mid-2021. It\u2019s fork-ception.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the surface level, Dogecoin does have a few key benefits:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Block times of 1 minute, as opposed to Bitcoin and Ethereum\u2019s 10-minute transaction speeds<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The affordable price point appeals to retail investors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fewer fees, and is cheaper to use<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another interesting aspect to consider when looking at Doge is its inflation rate. 10,000 new Dogecoins are created per minute on the network, making it extremely inflationary. This drastically increases the difficulty of raising the price of Doge<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes memes cannot beat out bad tokenomics.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Doge\u2019s Future: What\u2019s Next Now Elon Musk Runs The D.O.G.E<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDoge to $1,\u201d and \u201cDoge to the Moon\u201d are popular slogans amongst the Doge army.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dogecoin may very well head to $1, but its lack of intrinsic value and terrible tokenomics make it a risky long-term investment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, meme investing isn\u2019t going away. With its low price point compared to Ether and BTC and institutional support from Elon Musk, Doge will likely be around for a long time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dogecoin is the \u201cPeople\u2019s Crypto,\u201d as dubbed by Elon.
