The price of cryptocurrency Dogecoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: DOGE<\/a>) is hitting one-month highs this week on the heels of new connections to Tesla CEO Elon Musk<\/strong>, who has often been involved in volume and price increases for the meme crypto.<\/a><\/p>\n

Here’s a look at how much Dogecoin has grown in value since Musk first mentioned the cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n

First Tweet: <\/strong>Musk is the richest person in the world and also one of the most vocal supporters of the Shiba Inu-themed meme cryptocurrency. In the past, tweets by Musk about Dogecoin have\u00a0led to spikes and high volatility.<\/a><\/p>\n

On April 2, 2019, Musk replied to a tweet saying \u201cDogecoin might be my fav cryptocurrency.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s pretty cool,\u201d Musk said of winning the fictional title of CEO of Dogecoin in a Twitter poll with 49% of the vote.<\/p>\n

Musk beat out\u00a0Ethereum\u00a0<\/strong>(CRYPTO: ETH<\/a>)\u00a0co-founder\u00a0Vitalik Buterin<\/strong>, who got 9% of the vote,\u00a0Litecoin\u00a0<\/strong>(CRYPTO: LTC<\/a>)\u00a0creator\u00a0Charlie Lee<\/strong>, who got 8% of the vote, and payment-processing platform\u00a0Metal\u00a0<\/strong>founder\u00a0Marshall Hayner<\/strong>, who got 33% of the vote.<\/p>\n
