The posts\u2014apparently referencing a so-called \u201cTrump effect\u201d on the company\u2014came in quick succession, raising eyebrows among industry observers who have long tracked Ripple\u2019s high-profile legal battles and global expansion.<\/p>\n

Why Has Trump Mentioned Ripple?<\/h2>\n

On Truth Social, President Trump posted two separate pieces about Ripple back-to-back: From CoinDesk (January 6): \u201cRipple\u2019s Garlinghouse Touts \u2018Trump Effect\u2019 Amid Bump in US Deals,\u201d and from The Block (January 5): \u201cRipple CEO Says 75% of Open Roles Are Now US-Based Due to \u2018Trump Effect.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

In both articles, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse highlighted a notable shift<\/a> in the company\u2019s US fortunes following Trump\u2019s reelection in November 2024, referring to this shift as the \u201cTrump effect.\u201d According to Garlinghouse, Ripple saw a surge in domestic business deals in late 2024\u2014an amount he claimed surpassed what the company had secured in the previous six months. He attributed this upswing to a changing regulatory environment and renewed optimism due to the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

Garlinghouse also disclosed that 75% of the company\u2019s new job openings are currently US-based\u2014an about-face compared to previous years, when the bulk of Ripple\u2019s clients (and consequently its hiring focus) were overseas due to mounting regulatory pressure at home. Notably, Garlinghouse retweeted a post by @BankXRP on X, which drew attention to President Trump\u2019s Truth Social posts.<\/p>\n

Just two days prior to these Truth Social posts, on February 17, 2025, the White House released<\/a> a press statement headlined \u201cTrump Effect Shows No Slowdown.\u201d It read in part: \u201cIn his first month back in office, President Donald J. Trump has taken extraordinary action to usher in a new Golden Age of America \u2013 through border security, deregulation, government accountability, and leveling the playing field for American workers, to name a few. The positive effects of President Trump\u2019s policies continue to be felt across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, neither the broader crypto industry nor Ripple was mentioned there. Instead, the release listed several headlines purportedly reflecting these policies, including potential automaker relocations from Mexico, expansions in steel manufacturing in Ohio, and significant changes in immigration flows along the US border. In one of the more striking entries, it noted: \u201cDOGE<\/a> Discovers $1.9 Billion HUD Money \u2018Misplaced\u2019 By Biden Administration\u201d<\/p>\n

At press time, the XRP price wasn\u2019t reacting to the news at all. and stood at $2.60.<\/p>\n
