According to Santiment, between February 2 and February 19, its market cap went up by 46%, fueled by increased network utility and institutional interest.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/14.0.0\/72x72\/26a1.png\" alt=\"\u26a1\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\"> Litecoin doesn\u2019t typically get the social media hype of other top cap cryptocurrencies like XRP, Solana, Chainlink or Cardano. But on the back of some legitimate ETF rumors, it has quietly seen a big jump in value recently. Recently, Bloomberg analysts James Seyffart and Eric Balchunas suggested there was a 90% chance of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/analysts-litecoin-etf-leads-xrp-and-other-altcoins-in-approval-odds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">approving<\/a> exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking Litecoin. The odds of this product hitting the market are much higher than those of larger capped cryptocurrencies, including Dogecoin (DOGE), Ripple (XRP), and Solana (SOL).<\/p>\n<p>Canary Capital has filed to list a Litecoin ETF, with the SEC <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/litecoin-etf-one-step-closer-to-approval-will-the-sec-finally-say-yes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">acknowledging<\/a> the filing and initiating its review process. If approved, it would allow mainstream investors to gain exposure to LTC without managing private keys or holding the asset directly.<\/p>\n<p>In Santiment\u2019s view, an LTC ETF would not only open the floodgates for institutional investment but also make it more likely for the other altcoins to be tied to similar financial products.<\/p>\n<h2>On-Chain Activity and Market Impact<\/h2>\n<p>Beyond the ETF noises, Litecoin\u2019s $9.6 billion worth of on-chain trading activity over the past week is remarkable. The same metric had a value of $2.8 billion just six months ago, meaning its current state is a 242% improvement from that period.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, market watchers have <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/litecoin-ltc-jumps-9-in-24-hours-how-high-can-it-go\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">predicted<\/a> LTC\u2019s next price target at $140, with a potential rally toward $170 if momentum continues. At the time of writing, the coin was changing hands at just above $133, a 3.4% improvement on its level 24 hours ago.
