However, one of those recently decided to sell his XRP positions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The person in question is the finance expert Gary Cardone. He <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GaryCardone\/status\/1892714881654391209\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">revealed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to his 76,000 followers on X that he dumped his XRP holdings when the asset\u2019s price was hovering at $2.71. The American also outlined six reasons driving his choice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">First, he said he doesn\u2019t understand the asset\u2019s supply\/demand dynamics. To the uninitiated, XRP has a total supply of 100 billion coins, 57% of which are currently in circulation. Ripple Labs holds a significant amount of tokens and releases 1 billion tokens each month via its escrow system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Second, Cardone claimed others couldn\u2019t explain those dynamics in \u201ca very understandable way\u201d and couldn\u2019t draw it on a whiteboard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Third, he thinks people should <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">stay away from<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> an ecosystem full of people who \u201cknow the price of everything, but the value of nothing.\u201d <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is worth noting that the Ripple community is indeed full of members who <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/expert-makes-outrageous-ripple-xrp-price-prediction-but-is-it-out-of-touch\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">mak<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/expert-makes-outrageous-ripple-xrp-price-prediction-but-is-it-out-of-touch\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">e<\/a> ridiculous price predictions that are not based on technical analysis or any <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">sort of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> thorough research.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Forth<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, the finance expert warned investors never to confuse short-term noise with a long-term investment\/plan\/goal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">His fifth reason states that \u201creal wealth <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">is made<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> by highly consolidated bets and investments that <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">are made<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> over long <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">periods of time<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u201d Lastly, he argued that people should \u201cnever follow the crowd.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Yes, But<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Contrary to Cordone\u2019s reasons, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">there are some factors that suggest<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> exiting the ecosystem right now might not be the wisest move.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">First, we have a bunch of well-known companies, such as Grayscale, Bitwise, and 21Shares, competing to launch the first spot XRP ETF in the United States. The investment vehicle (if approved) will allow investors to gain exposure to the asset without having to purchase it from exchanges and worry about self-custody.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The US SEC has already <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-xrp-etf-edges-closer-to-reality-with-new-milestone\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">acknowledged<\/a> those applications. Furthermore, it recently <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/us-ripple-xrp-etf-approval-seems-closer-after-this-development-details\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">posted<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Grayscale\u2019s filing to the Federal Register, which means it has to give its final say on the product by October 18.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Next on the list is the potential resolution of the lawsuit between Ripple and the US SEC. The entities have been confronting <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">the legal front for over four years, but some partial court victories and developments seemingly tipped the scales in favor of the company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">It is important to note that the SEC\u2019s anti-crypto Chairman, Gary Gensler,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/gary-gensler-officially-out-what-does-it-mean-for-ripple-xrp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">resigned<\/a> a month ago and was succeeded by Mark Uyeda, who has a much different stance on the digital asset industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Earlier today (February 21), Coinbase\u2019s CEO Brian Armstrong <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/coinbase-ceo-boasts-about-sec-lawsuit-dismissal-is-ripple-next\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">announced<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that his firm <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reached an agreement<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> with the securities regulator to dismiss their case.
