Super Roots are designed to provide a shared representation that can be challenged through fault-proof mechanisms.

Proposal 20 brings dispute-game infrastructure around that idea into the governance process.

The planned mainnet target is September 24, assuming the proposal clears the necessary governance and execution steps.

The Upgrade Is Still A Proposal

The timing needs to remain clear.

Upgrade 20 is not yet live on mainnet.

Optimism’s governance process is still handling the proposal, and the September 24 date is a target rather than proof of completed deployment.

If executed, the change would move the OP Stack closer to a model where cross-chain state can be verified with the same adversarial principles used in rollup fault proofs.

That is a technical foundation for a more connected Superchain, but the current event is governance consideration, not completed activation.

This article was written by the News Desk and edited by Samuel Rae.

Source: Primary Source

TL;DR Optimism Governance is considering Upgrade Proposal 20.
