{"id":14885,"date":"2025-02-25T12:32:10","date_gmt":"2025-02-25T12:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=14885"},"modified":"2025-02-25T12:32:10","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T12:32:10","slug":"dubai-approves-circles-stablecoins-usdc-and-eurc-for-use-in-difc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=14885","title":{"rendered":"Dubai Approves Circle&#8217;s Stablecoins USDC and EURC for Use in DIFC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Circle&#8217;s stablecoin&#8217;s USDC and EURC got approval for use and promotion within the Dubai International Financial Centre, the company said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circle.com\/pressroom\/usdc-and-eurc-become-first-stablecoins-recognized-by-dubai-international-financial-centre\" target=\"_blank\">in a statement on Monday<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) approved USDC and EURC as recognized crypto tokens within the DIFC, the statement said. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With this approval, financial institutions and fintechs operating in the DIFC can integrate USDC and EURC into digital asset services, payments, treasury management, and a range of financial applications,&#8221; the company said. <\/p>\n<p>The recognition of Circle&#8217;s stablecoins is a game-changer, Ryan Lee, Chief Analyst at Bitget Research said in a statement.  <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This move enhances trust in stablecoins amid regional volatility, boosts Circle\u2019s competitive stance against Tether\u2019s USDT dominance, and could reshape the $157 billion stablecoin market by legitimizing USDC and EURC for broader use,&#8221; Lee said.<\/p>\n<p>Dubai put in place rules for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2023\/03\/02\/dubais-crypto-industry-welcomes-new-licensing-regime-amid-global-regulatory-uncertainty\" target=\"_blank\">crypto sector in 2022 <\/a>that enabled firms to obtain a license and apply to <a href=\"https:\/\/365343652932-web-server-storage.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com\/files\/9017\/2743\/2831\/Crypto_Token_regime_explainer_-_Final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">get their tokens recognised<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Only recognized crypto tokens are permitted for use and promotion in the DIFC which is home to over over 6000 firms,&#8221; Circle said.
