{"id":15041,"date":"2025-02-26T07:46:46","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T07:46:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=15041"},"modified":"2025-02-26T07:46:46","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T07:46:46","slug":"eth-price-remains-crushed-despite-new-president-at-ethereum-foundation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=15041","title":{"rendered":"ETH Price Remains Crushed Despite New President at Ethereum Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>On Feb. 25, Aya Miyaguchi announced her transition from Executive Director to President of the Ethereum Foundation (EF), a decision she made a year ago.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThese past few weeks have illuminated something profound about Ethereum \u2014 a truth that becomes clearest in moments of tension when debates arise over the network\u2019s performance or ETH\u2019s market value,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She added that teams and individuals across the globe have been speaking of Ethereum as if it were their own, but this tension is where the greatest strength lies:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEthereum belongs to everyone precisely because it belongs to no one.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Today, I\u2019m excited to turn the page and share that I will be closing this chapter as Executive Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ethereumfndn?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">@ethereumfndn<\/a> soon and stepping into a new role as its President.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s continue building in the garden.<\/p>\n<p>Read my full statement :<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sn3Rpsatqy\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/sn3Rpsatqy<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4Gz3WdLPLD\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/4Gz3WdLPLD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Aya Miyaguchi (@AyaMiyagotchi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AyaMiyagotchi\/status\/1894422130462249185?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">February 25, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>New EF President<\/h2>\n<p>She emphasized Ethereum\u2019s core philosophies, which include decentralized ownership, a \u201cPace Layering\u201d framework, and credible neutrality.\u00a0She also reiterated the Foundation\u2019s role: It doesn\u2019t control all domains but works to identify gaps and uphold Ethereum\u2019s core values.<\/p>\n<p>Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin congratulated Aya, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/VitalikButerin\/status\/1894421753465643265\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">adding<\/a> that the role of the executive director is to create an environment where others can shine and do their best work:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSo every success of the EF \u2013 the steady execution of Ethereum hard forks, client interop workshops, Devcon, Ethereum\u2019s culture and steadfast commitment to its mission and values, and more \u2013 is in part a result of Aya\u2019s stewardship.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Miyaguchi reflected on her seven-year journey with EF, noting how Ethereum has grown from having fewer voices to becoming a diverse ecosystem that grows \u201clike a garden, strengthened by its biodiversity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ethereum-foundation-dissent-dampens-eth-price-as-vitalik-asserts-authority\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Tensions escalated<\/a> at the EF in January when there was backlash against Miyaguchi and accusations of inefficiencies during her tenure. Buterin asserted his authority, but some core developers, such as Eric Connor, jumped ship and have since started fuelling more negative sentiment against <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ethereum-bounces-back-as-bybit-closes-gap-on-hack-losses\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Ethereum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>ETH Price Hammered<\/h2>\n<p>Those tensions have been amplified by the underlying asset\u2019s dire performance in recent months.
