This week, he warned that 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods would take effect on March 4 and said there would be an additional 10% tax on China as well as threatening duties on the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>Since trade war worries began on Jan. 20, crypto markets have erased $800 billion.<\/p>\n<h2>Trade Tensions<\/h2>\n<p>Trade tensions often create market volatility across all asset classes, including cryptocurrencies and stocks, which have also been tumbling. Around 86% of them were long positions and the largest single liquidation order happened on HTX with a $38 million BTC\/USDT trade.<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin Down to $79K<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/bitcoin-sentiment-hits-2022-lows-as-fear-greed-index-falls-to-10\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Bitcoin<\/a> plunged below $80,000 during Asian trading on Friday as the asset lost another 6% on the day. Its weekly losses were almost 19%, and it has corrected 26% from its January all-time high.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLooking at this price action, I think we have one more violent wave down below $80k, most likely over the weekend, then crickets for a while,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CryptoHayes\/status\/1895289783792079143\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">observed<\/a> BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ethereum has been <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/eth-price-remains-crushed-despite-new-president-at-ethereum-foundation\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">obliterated<\/a> in a fall to just over $2,100, its lowest level for more than a year.
