Under his leadership, it dismissed its lawsuits against <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/coinbase-ceo-boasts-about-sec-lawsuit-dismissal-is-ripple-next\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Coinbase<\/a>, Kraken, Uniswap, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In a recent interview, former White House official Anthony Scaramucci <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=O7HqgkfS7Qk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">claimed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that the legal tussle between the SEC and Ripple is also over. The host of the conversation, Scott Melker (known as The Wolf of All Streets), agreed with this assumption.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Despite Scaramucci\u2019s viewpoint, there is no official information that the lawsuit has finally <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reached its conclusion<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It has been ongoing for more than four years<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, with some legal experts describing it as totally different from the aforementioned cases.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">US attorney Jeremy Hogan recently\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-v-sec-lawsuit-heres-why-a-quick-resolution-is-unlikely\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">predicted<\/a> that the battle would most likely be resolved after a settlement rather than a dismissal.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe SEC broke up with Coinbase after a\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">couple<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> dates. Ripple and the SEC live together and have a baby,\u201d he opined.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Fox Business journalist Eleanor Terrett shared a similar thesis, outlining that Judge Torres has already <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-fined-125m-in-lawsuit-against-sec-xrp-price-soars-20-immediately\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">ordered<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> a $125 million penalty on the firm for violating <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">certain<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> rules.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Negotiations for a Better Deal<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> American lawyer James Murphy <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">also chipped in<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> lately.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> He <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-v-sec-lawsuit-why-the-battle-remains-unresolved-expert-insight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">suggested<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that the lawsuit remains unsolved because Ripple might be \u201ctrying hard to get the SEC to agree to vacate some or all of Judge Torres\u2019 decisions.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He agreed that the $125 million fine is \u201cgreat\u201d for Ripple and the XRP Army since it represents just a fraction of the $2 billion the SEC initially requested.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">On the other hand, Murphy maintained that the findings that the company has breached some laws \u201cis not great\u201d for its reputation.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThis is particularly true if Ripple is considering a future exempt securities offering or IPO.
