They also provide alternative revenue sources to miners, which can help to offset declining Bitcoin block subsidies.<\/p>\n<p>Core&#8217;s staking protocol has secured over 6,200 BTC ($548 million) with its blockchain secured by around 76% of Bitcoin&#8217;s hashrate, according to Friday&#8217;s announcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur integration with Cobo greatly enhances the Core ecosystem by onboarding liquidity from high-caliber institutional clients,\u201d said Brendon Sedo, initial contributor at Core.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Core <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/02\/17\/bitcoin-staking-platform-core-joins-crypto-lender-maple-and-custodians-bitgo-copper-hex-trust\" target=\"_blank\">partnered with Maple Finance and custodians BitGo, Copper and Hex Trust<\/a> in another move that promised to broaden access to BTC staking for institutions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bitcoin (BTC) staking layer Core has teamed up with Singapore-based custodian Cobo to expand its institutional reach into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
