The cryptocurrency world is buzzing this week with news of a Strategic Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: BTC<\/a>) Reserve from President Donald Trump<\/strong>, which comes months after his presidential election victory sent crypto to new all-time highs.<\/a><\/p>\n

While investors may have loaded up on Bitcoin and related investments ahead of the official Executive Order, one member of Congress also bought ahead of the announcement.<\/p>\n

What Happened<\/strong>: Trump’s Executive Order to establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve <\/a>will see the initial funding from Bitcoin owned by the federal government that won’t be sold.<\/p>\n

“I made the promise, right,” Trump said in a video signing the Executive Order Thursday.<\/p>\n

The news follows a social media post from Trump on March 2 that said a reserve could include cryptocurrencies<\/a> like Bitcoin, Ethereum <\/strong>(CRYPTO: ETH<\/a>), Solana <\/strong>(CRYPTO: SOL<\/a>), Cardano <\/strong>(CRYPTO: ADA<\/a>) and XRP Token<\/strong> (CRYPTO: XRP<\/a>).<\/p>\n
