In February, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/bitcoin-to-maintain-leadership-in-2025-as-sovereign-and-institutional-adoption-soars-franklin-templeton\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Franklin Templeton<\/a> also filed for an ETF that will track the spot price of Solana (SOL).<\/p>\n<p>On March 7, Volatility Shares <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ETFhearsay\/status\/1898145667786158417\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">filed<\/a> three XRP ETF applications: one for a straight spot fund, one for a 2x leveraged XRP fund, and one for a -1x XRP ETF.<\/p>\n<p>There are now 17 XRP ETF filings pending a response from the US securities regulator. They include issuers Bitwise, Grayscale, 21Shares, WisdomTree, Canary Capital, CoinShares, Invesco, VanEck, Fidelity, Ark Invest, Galaxy Digital, ProShares, Hashdex, and Volatility Shares.<\/p>\n<p>XRP made a minor recovery, gaining 4% over the past 24 hours to reach $2.15 at the time of writing, though it remains down 13% over the past week.<\/p>\n<p>In related news, Bitwise launched an ETF holding stocks of companies with large Bitcoin treasuries on March 11.<\/p>\n<p>The Bitwise Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF (OWNB) \u201cseeks to track the Bitwise Bitcoin Standard Corporations Index, a new equity index of companies with at least 1,000 Bitcoin in their corporate treasuries,\u201d the firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20250311165166\/en\/The-Bitwise-Bitcoin-Standard-Corporations-ETF-Ticker-OWNB-Launches-on-NYSE-Arca-Tracks-Publicly-Traded-Companies-That-Own-at-Least-1000-BTC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">stated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At launch, the top five holdings of the index were Strategy 21%, MARA Holdings 12%, CleanSpark just over 6%, Riot Platforms 6%, and Boyaa Interactive just under 6%.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Cboe BZX is seeking permission from the SEC to incorporate staking into Fidelity\u2019s ETH ETF, according to a March 11 19b-4 rule change <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.cboe.com\/resources\/regulation\/rule_filings\/pending\/2025\/SR-CboeBZX-2025-038.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>SEC Delays Altcoin ETFs<\/h2>\n<p>It has been a busy week for crypto ETFs as the SEC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nysearca\/2025\/34-102584.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">issued a notice<\/a> on Tuesday extending the review period for NYSE Arca\u2019s proposed rule change to list and trade shares of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/is-grayscales-ripple-trust-the-way-toward-a-spot-xrp-etf-in-the-us\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Grayscale XRP Trust<\/a> to May 21.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator also pushed back approvals for the VanEck Spot Solana ETF, Canary Spot Litecoin ETF, Canary Spot Solana ETF, Canary Spot XRP ETF, and Grayscale Spot Dogecoin ETF.<\/p>\n<p>Issuers now have to wait until May, the new deadline for the SEC to either approve, reject, or delay the process.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/xrp-price-catalyst-franklin-templeton-joins-growing-list-of-etf-applicants\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">XRP Price Catalyst: Franklin Templeton Joins Growing List of ETF Applicants<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">CryptoPotato<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the world\u2019s largest asset managers, Franklin Templeton, is planning to launch an ETF that will track the spot price of the Ripple cross-border payment token XRP.
