He also pointed out that the final decision deadlines for these ETFs are still months away, with the ultimate cutoff extending into October.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Seyffart further noted that political factors could influence the approval process, particularly the pending confirmation of Paul Atkins, former SEC commissioner <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> pro-crypto businessman, who was selected by former President Donald Trump to lead the agency.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Eth staking and in-kind also delayed. In late February, the commission extended its deadline for reviewing a request from Cboe Exchange to list options linked to Ethereum ETFs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The latest delays follow a wave of altcoin ETF filings submitted after <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Trump\u2019s<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> election victory and the subsequent resignation of former SEC Chair Gary Gensler. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Gensler, known for his aggressive regulatory approach toward crypto, oversaw more than 100 enforcement actions during his tenure before stepping down on January 20.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Since his departure, several firms previously targeted by the SEC have seen legal actions dismissed, including crypto exchange Gemini on February 26 and trading firm Cumberland DRW on March 4. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Acting SEC Chairman Mark Uyeda has also proposed rolling back a rule change that would have extended regulatory oversight to alternative trading systems, including those used by crypto firms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">EXPLORE:\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/analysis\/crypto-forecast-best-crypto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">10 Coins with High Returns: Crypto Forecast 2025<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Spot Bitcoin ETFs See Continued Outflows as \u00a0Investors Engage in Arbitrage Strategies<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is worth noting that spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen continued outflows over the past few weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Industry experts, including BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes, suggest that much of the selling pressure comes from hedge funds using Bitcoin ETFs for arbitrage rather than long-term investment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As these yield opportunities fade, many traders<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0are unwindin<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">g their positions, contributing to the sustained outflows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Markus Thielen, head of\u00a0research at 10x\u00a0Research,\u00a0h<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">as also <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">noted that over half of spot Bitcoin ETF investors are involved in ETF arbitrage strategies.
