She recently <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EleanorTerrett\/status\/1899852341374779587\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">revealed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that two \u201cwell-placed sources\u201d told her <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">that the<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> lawsuit \u201cis in the process of wrapping up and could be over soon.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to her information, the delay in reaching an agreement is due to Ripple\u2019s legal team negotiating more favorable terms regarding the $125 million penalty that Judge Torres <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-fined-125m-in-lawsuit-against-sec-xrp-price-soars-20-immediately\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">slammed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the company with last summer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Terrett <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">was told<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that the SEC\u2019s new leadership had <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">been thoroughly examining<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the case and is now \u201cseemingly unsure\u201d whether the company breached any rules. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Recall that<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Judge Torres found that Ripple\u2019s institutional sales of XRP tokens violated federal securities laws.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThere\u2019s no real playbook for this kind of thing which could explain why this case <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">is taking<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> longer to resolve than the rest.
