Bitcoin holds its ground as Trump\u2019s tariffs put investors on the back foot and projects like $ETH, $DOGE, and BTC Bull Token, that are directly connected to $BTC\u2019s success, may capitalize on it.<\/p>\n

Despite the White House\u2019s positive outlook on the crypto market, which culminated with Trump\u2019s Bitcoin Reserve<\/a> earlier this month, the February 1st, 2025 tariff plan<\/a> hit the crypto market like a sledgehammer.<\/p>\n

$BTC lost 22.5% of its value between February 4 and March 11, 2025, falling from $101K to $78K, while the market as a whole shaved $300B off of its value.<\/p>\n

The recoil was so brutal that it even brought critics like Peter Schiff to accuse Trump of deliberate market manipulation:<\/p>\n

However, despite the controversy and the market\u2019s sudden free-fall, Bitcoin appears to remain solid and even shows signs of recovery. So, what is going on?<\/p>\n

How Trump\u2019s Policies Shape the Crypto Market<\/h2>\n

Alexis Sirkia, co-founder of GSR and CEO of Yellow Capital, bit back at Peter Schiff\u2019s anti-Trump rhetoric, stating his unequivocal trust in the crypto market:<\/p>\n

In his words: \u2018The value of Bitcoin is still the same [\u2026] It\u2019s still $100,000, now there\u2019s just a 20% discount because of risk and uncertainty.\u2019<\/p>\n

We naturally disagree with Alexis in the short-term, but we 100% agree in the long-term, once Bitcoin would have regained its strength.<\/p>\n

The Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnik, also expressed his unwavering confidence<\/a> in the future of the crypto market. In a March 12, 2025, interview for CBS, he stated that Trump\u2019s tariff policies are worth it even if they would lead to a recession:<\/p>\n

\u2018These policies are the most important thing America has ever had.[\u2026] It is worth it. These policies produce revenue and growth, they produce factories being built here.\u2019<\/p>\n

Recent $12B Open Interest Wipeout Still Positive for Bitcoin<\/h2>\n

These (not so) hot takes come in the context of David Sacks (former Paypal exec and Trump\u2019s newly appointed AI & Crypto Czar) announcing that Trump\u2019s Digital Asset Stockpile will include four other tokens<\/a>, aside from Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

In the same post, he also said that:<\/p>\n

\u2018The U.S. will not sell any bitcoin deposited into the Reserve. It will be kept as a store of value. The Reserve is like a digital Fort Knox for the cryptocurrency often called \u201cdigital gold\u201d.\u2019<\/p>\n

This HODL strategy, especially coming from the White House itself, may benefit Bitcoin profoundly in the long-term, given that the US is currently the biggest crypto player in the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n
