Bitcoin is an unprecedented global network of money that has no single source of control. The more miners in a network,<\/span>\u00a0the more decentralized it is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even then the alleged energy consumption for Bitcoin is hyperbolic at best.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitcoin\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/proof-of-work-proof-of-stake\/\"> proof of work system<\/a> is warranted to make it function; moreover, it enables Bitcoin\u2019s best feature, decentralization, to work without a hitch. If functional decentralized money is important to you, Bitcoin is worth it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Energy Sources For Bitcoin Mining<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>A few years back, ARKK Investment\u2019s founder, Cathie Wood, debunked Musk\u2019s assertions that Bitcoin mining is bad.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe one thing that has changed here is the environmental concerns around Bitcoin, which have caused people like Elon Musk to pull away,\u201d said Wood in a Bloomberg interview. \u201cWe believe even this is going to change, because first of all, the percentage of Bitcoin mined with renewables and hydroelectric power is quite substantial. In China, I believe it\u2019s over 50%.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She went on to add that miners have adopted<a href=\"https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/news\/russia-bans-crypto-mining-in-russia-occupied-ukraine-territories-cites-energy-shortage\/\"> green energy<\/a> because they go to where power is cheapest. Cheaper power = more profits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even so, Bitcoin\u2019s environmental impact is blown out of the water and for the most part\u00a0 is hyperbole.
