In its latest meeting, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) opted to keep the federal funds rate steady at the target range of 4.25% to 4.50%.<\/p>\n

That continues the status quo, and sets up the crypto market for continued volatility \u2013 but also, opportunities for the best presales to shine.<\/p>\n

The recent decision indicates the Federal Reserve\u2019s caution in light of prevailing economic uncertainties; with slightly lower GDP growth and slightly higher inflation, the Fed wants to play things safe.<\/p>\n

But will US President Trump let it?<\/p>\n

Given how Trump has approached policy-making so far, with broad attempts to reset the US approach on everything from crypto to foreign policy, there\u2019s a very real chance that the next Fed chairman might be appointed primarily to do what Trump wants them to do, rather than what\u2019s best for fiscal policy.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s especially true given all the economic mixed signals:<\/p>\n

\"\u274c\" GDP growth slowing to 1.7% in 2025<\/p>\n

\"\u274c\" Inflation projected to rise to 2.7%<\/p>\n

\"\u2705\" Unemployment rate stays low, estimated 4.4% by EOY<\/p>\n

That leaves the Federal Reserve on a tightrope requiring very careful and delicate moves.<\/p>\n

And \u2018careful and delicate\u2019 are hardly words to describe Trump\u2019s approach.\u200b<\/p>\n

Trade Policies Contribute to Unsteady Markets; Crypto and Stocks Respond Positively<\/h2>\n

Reporters asked Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell about the impact of recent trade policies, including tariffs, on inflation projections. Powell\u2019s answer, while cautious, noted that \u2018a good part of it is coming from tariffs.\u2019<\/p>\n

But despite the somewhat muted tone coming out of the meeting, financial markets reacted positively to the FOMC\u2019s announcements.<\/p>\n

Major U.S. stock indices experienced gains:<\/p>\n
