{"id":19072,"date":"2025-03-25T23:07:01","date_gmt":"2025-03-25T23:07:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=19072"},"modified":"2025-03-25T23:07:01","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T23:07:01","slug":"secs-crypto-task-force-will-host-4-more-industry-roundtables","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=19072","title":{"rendered":"SEC\u2019s Crypto Task Force Will Host 4 More Industry Roundtables"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\u2019s (SEC) Crypto Task Force will host four more roundtable discussions with the industry this spring, on topics ranging from tokenization to decentralized finance (DeFi).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Crypto Task Force\u2019s first roundtable discussion \u2014\u00a0the kick-off to what Commissioner Hester Peirce, the task force\u2019s leader, has dubbed the SEC\u2019s \u201cSpring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity\u201d \u2014\u00a0was held in Washington, D.C., last Friday. A dozen industry lawyers spoke about issues related to the security status of tokens.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2025\/03\/21\/sec-earnest-about-finding-workable-crypto-policy-commissioners-say-at-roundtable\" target=\"_blank\">SEC \u2018Earnest\u2019 About Finding Workable Crypto Policy, Commissioners Say at Roundtable<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Crypto Task Force roundtables are an opportunity for us to hear a lively discussion among experts about what the regulatory issues are and what the Commission can do to solve them,\u201d Peirce said in a Tuesday announcement.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The roundtable discussions are just one example of the SEC\u2019s radical overhaul of its approach to crypto regulation. As the agency moves away from the so-called \u201cregulation by enforcement\u201d practiced by former Chair Gary Gensler, its new leadership \u2014 including Pierce and Acting Chair Mark Uyeda \u2014\u00a0have signaled a desire to improve their working relationship with the crypto industry and provide clearer regulatory guidelines to industry participants.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The next roundtable discussion in the series, \u201cBetween a Block and a Hard Place: Tailoring Regulation for Crypto Trading\u201d is slated for April 11. The following discussions will cover topics including crypto custody (April 25), tokenization (May 12), and decentralized finance (June 6).
