In an X post, the Ripple executive said the SEC will <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/sec-drop-appeal-ripple-ceo-garlinghouse\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">drop its appeal against Ripple<\/a>, ending the $1.3 billion unregistered securities suit that started in December 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Following the development, Nate Geraci, president of the advisory firm ETF Store, <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NateGeraci\/status\/1904765629640695867\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">said<\/a> on X that the approval of an XRP (<a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/xrp-price-index\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">XRP<\/a>) ETF is next. Geraci said it was \u201cobvious\u201d that it\u2019s only a \u201cmatter of time\u201d before the SEC approves an XRP ETF.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The executive predicted that asset managers like BlackRock and Fidelity would be involved in offering the asset.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><template data-ct-widget=\"buzzsprout\" data-buzzsprout-podcast-id=\"2040516\" data-buzzsprout-episode-id=\"16494711\"><\/template><\/p>\n<h2>Polymarket punters give 86% odds to XRP ETF approval in 2025<\/h2>\n<p>Aside from Geraci, users on the crypto betting platform Polymarket also <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/ripple-etf-approved-in-2025?tid=1742990869077\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">expect<\/a> approval for an XRP ETF in 2025. On March 26, Polymarket gave an 86% chance that an XRP-based ETF product would be approved this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The bet will resolve if an XRP ETF receives approval from the SEC by Dec. 31. Source: Polymarket<\/em><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, users only <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/ripple-etf-approved-by-july-31-2025?tid=1742990908695\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">give<\/a> a 42% chance that an XRP ETF will be approved before July 31.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being a gambling site, Polymarket users\u2019 predictions have historically been very accurate. On March 19, XRP traded at $2.32, according to CoinGecko. At the time of writing, the asset hovers at around $2.44, a 5% increase.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On March 21, analysts said the new development had <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/sec-dropping-xrp-case-priced-in-trump-s-election\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">already been priced in<\/a>.
