{"id":19615,"date":"2025-03-28T18:03:04","date_gmt":"2025-03-28T18:03:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=19615"},"modified":"2025-03-28T18:03:04","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T18:03:04","slug":"crypto-card-firm-baanx-partners-with-circle-for-rewards-wallet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=19615","title":{"rendered":"Crypto Card Firm Baanx Partners With Circle for Rewards Wallet"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2024\/08\/14\/metamask-starts-rollout-of-blockchain-based-debit-card-developed-with-mastercard-baanx\" target=\"_blank\">Baanx<\/a>, a cryptocurrency debit card enabler for the likes of MetaMask and 1inch, has introduced a rewards wallet combining on-chain finance with traditional loyalty perks and discounts, using underlying technology from Circle, the provider of the USDC stablecoin.<\/p>\n<p>Built on <a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/\/www.circle.com\/programmable-wallets__;!!PKfFmjksEw!3sO6ioJvvcJD_6eQ6DPSVs74P0sAmLibSqNLMUzy9feGZYk_cINZ4UWld_h3rCYSHw7iUWQ3sXYNX_OTwMw%24\" target=\"_blank\">Circle\u2019s programmable wallet tech<\/a>, the Baanx platform allows crypto holders access to cashback, fee discounts, subscription perks and exclusive gated experiences, according to a press release.<\/p>\n<p>An ongoing convergence between traditional card networks and the on-chain world of stablecoins and decentralized finance (DeFi) has seen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2023\/10\/24\/mastercard-plans-web3-collaborations-with-self-custody-wallet-firms\" target=\"_blank\">Mastercard partner<\/a> with Web3 wallet MetaMask, and more recently reports of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/03\/20\/openai-chief-sam-altman-s-world-network-is-working-with-payments-giant-visa-source\" target=\"_blank\">Visa in talks <\/a>with Sam Altman\u2019s World Network.<\/p>\n<p>The rewards wallet offering helps bridge the gap between blockchain and everyday financial needs, said Baanx Chief Commercial Officer Simon Jones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;ve built the Rewards Wallet using Circle to offer rewards on a crypto debit card that are unprecedented, and so incentivizing users to go down the route of non-custodial spend,\u201d Jones said in an interview. \u201cFor instance, if you look at the MataMask card, it\u2019s up to 6% cash-back for the first month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Circle, famous as the creator of the $60 billion stablecoin USDC, offers programmable wallet infrastructure that allows for adding features to multiple crypto projects without having to change the user interface, Jones said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pushing USDC as the main treasury token and incentive program within these products, as opposed to Tether [USDT],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sanja Kon, VP of partnerships &amp; business development, Europe at Circle said in a statement: \u201cCircle Wallets provide a fantastic foundation for the Rewards Wallet.
