The price quickly soared to $2.60, but just as abruptly, it headed south in the following days in what seemed a <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/unpopular-opinion-is-it-actually-time-to-short-ripple-xrp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201csell-the-news\u201d moment<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The pullback intensified in the past few days, and XRP neared the psychological level of $2 just hours ago. It currently trades at around $2.09 (per CoinMarketCap\u2019s data), representing a 20% decline since the local peak observed at <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">the time of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Garlinghouse\u2019s disclosure.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Despite the negative performance, XRP remains a favorite topic for analysts, and many have touched upon the matter recently. The X user CRYPTOWZRD <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/cryptoWZRD_\/status\/1906523208418795732\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">noted<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that Ripple\u2019s cross-border token <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">trades<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> quite close to the $2 support area, predicting that a potential reversal from the current position may push the valuation toward the $2.80 resistance level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cMoving below $2.10 and holding there for a while can lead to a short. However, moving towards $2.33 and then a healthy reversal will offer a better short opportunity. Holding above $2.33 for a while may lead to a long. We now need to wait for the next healthy, mature trade setup to engage with the trade,\u201d they specified.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The analyst,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> using the X moniker The Great Matsby, gave their two cents, too.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> They <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/matthughes13\/status\/1906367448024031639\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">assumed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that XRP might have already bottomed at the beginning of February when the price briefly <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/xrp-slumped-below-2-as-ripple-whales-continue-to-offload\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">tanked<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> under 1.80.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Peter Brandt\u2019s Opinion<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Veteran trader Peter Brandt also chipped in. He predicted bullish future if the valuation soars above $3 and a further pullback to as low as $1.07 if the resistance level of $1.90 doesn\u2019t hold.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Meanwhile, whales <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/why-is-ripple-xrp-the-worst-performing-crypto-asset-out-of-top-20\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">dumped<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> 1.12 billion XRP in the span of 48 hours, potentially setting the stage for a deeper correction. After all, large sell-offs may trigger panic across the space, with smaller players also leaving the ecosystem. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Such efforts also increase XRP\u2019s circulating supply, which, combined with non-climbing demand, should lead to a price slump.
