{"id":20224,"date":"2025-04-02T13:16:53","date_gmt":"2025-04-02T13:16:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=20224"},"modified":"2025-04-02T13:16:53","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T13:16:53","slug":"china-on-watch-after-u-s-government-embrace-of-bitcoin-grayscale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=20224","title":{"rendered":"China on Watch After U.S. Government Embrace of Bitcoin: Grayscale"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The Trump administration&#8217;s formation of a U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve might have China re-thinking its hardline stance against crypto and that could be key for accelerated global adoption of BTC, asset manager Grayscale said in a research report Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The most important country to watch in this regard is China,&#8221; said Grayscale, adding that if the country eases its crypto restrictions &#8220;it could significantly boost global adoption.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>President Trump last month <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2025\/03\/06\/trump-signs-order-setting-up-bitcoin-fort-knox-and-digital-assets-stockpile\" target=\"_blank\">directed his administration<\/a> to form a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve to \u2014 at a minimum \u2014 hold the assets that have been seized by the government.<\/p>\n<p>Grayscale noted that current Chinese government policy bans most crypto activities, such as trading and mining, but permits the holding of digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>Still, &#8220;policymakers have allowed an expansion of crypto-related activity in Hong Kong under the &#8216;one country, two systems&#8217; framework,&#8221; Grayscale said.<\/p>\n<p>Local regulators may be taking another look at the legal treatment of cryptocurrencies in the country.
