{"id":21328,"date":"2025-04-09T15:02:03","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T15:02:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=21328"},"modified":"2025-04-09T15:02:03","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T15:02:03","slug":"european-union-moves-ahead-with-retaliatory-tariffs-against-u-s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=21328","title":{"rendered":"European Union Moves Ahead With Retaliatory Tariffs Against U.S."},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>European Union (EU) member states have approved the European Commission&#8217;s proposal to introduce retaliatory tariffs against the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>The bloc&#8217;s executive made the proposal as a countermeasure against the U.S.&#8217; imposition of tariffs on imports of steel and aluminium from the EU. <\/p>\n<p>Duties will be collected from April 15 once the implementing act is published, <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/statement_25_1025\" target=\"_blank\">the Commission announced on Wednesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The EU considers U.S. tariffs unjustified and damaging, causing economic harm to both sides, as well as the global economy,&#8221; the Commission said in the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission added that its preference is to avoid imposing tariffs and that they could be suspended at any time should the U.S. &#8220;agree to a fair and balanced negotiated outcome.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>President Donald Trump&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2025\/04\/03\/what-next-for-btc-eth-sol-ada-xrp-after-trump-tariffs-traders-react\" target=\"_blank\">unveiling of steep import tariffs<\/a> have sent both crypto equity markets tumbling in the last week.
