They can impact price moves with massive purchases or sales.<\/p>\n<p>After the US elections, whales went on a substantial accumulation spree as their holdings <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/whats-going-on-ripple-whales-holding-over-1m-xrp-at-6-year-high\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">reached<\/a> a six-year high. A few months down the road, XRP peaked at $3.4.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s where the landscape started to change and Ripple whales began <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-whales-go-on-a-selling-spree-is-xrp-headed-for-a-further-correction\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">offloading<\/a> significant portions of their XRP fortune. This, alongside the overall worsening market conditions and political uncertainty, pushed the asset south to under $2 on several occasions.<\/p>\n<p>These market participants have continued to dispose of their XRP tokens since the start of April, thus confirming the ongoing trend. This is so <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/is-xrp-in-trouble-last-time-this-happened-ripples-price-dumped-by-25\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">worrisome<\/a> because they began shortly after Ripple\u2019s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, announced on X that the lawsuit between his company and the US securities watchdog had effectively ended after both parties dropped their latest appeals.<\/p>\n<p>Although the SEC has yet to publish an official confirmation, industry experts believe this is just a matter of time and has already been <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-v-sec-outcome-xrp-moon-dreams-face-reality-check\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">priced in.<\/a> As such, the recent behavior by whales reaffirms a previous narrative that the real gains for XRP came on hype that the lawsuit would be concluded instead of the actual ending\u2014or, as they say in the financial world, a typical \u2018buy-the-rumor, sell-the-news\u2019 event.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead for Ripple, there are still some hype-worthy developments to anticipate, such as a <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/grayscale-files-for-ripple-xrp-etf-listing-on-nyse\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">potential approval<\/a> of an XRP ETF in the States.
