Filan published the order from the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, which acknowledged and granted the joint motion <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/settlement-in-sight-ripple-and-sec-file-joint-motion-to-stay-the-appeal\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">filed<\/a> by both Ripple and the SEC last week. Recall that the due requested a pause on their individual appeals.<\/p>\n<p>While this moves the case one inch closer to an official conclusion, the US securities watchdog is yet to make a statement. Filan (@FilanLaw) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FilanLaw\/status\/1912517176885473357?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">April 16, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Previously, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse made a triumphant <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/breaking-ripple-news-sec-will-drop-appeal-xrp-price-reacts\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">announcement<\/a> on March 19 that the SEC would drop its latest appeal, which effectively meant the end of the lawsuit. A narrative that was later confirmed by the company\u2019s Chief Legal Officer.<\/p>\n<p>This allowed Ripple to make big moves on the domestic scene by purchasing a leading prime broker in one of the largest deals in the crypto industry, worth over $1.2 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Although this is expected to be a <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-v-sec-outcome-xrp-moon-dreams-face-reality-check\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">game-changer<\/a> for XRP and its price, the asset has yet to react positively. It skyrocketed after Garlinghouse\u2019s statement to $2.6 but has declined to $2.1 as of now.
