{"id":23501,"date":"2025-04-24T07:01:46","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T07:01:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=23501"},"modified":"2025-04-24T07:01:46","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T07:01:46","slug":"dubais-vara-warns-of-firms-falsely-claiming-to-be-part-of-real-estate-tokenization-pilot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=23501","title":{"rendered":"Dubai\u2019s VARA Warns of Firms Falsely Claiming to Be Part of Real Estate Tokenization Pilot"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Dubai\u2019s crypto regulator has issued an alert, warning of firms falsely claiming to be part of the city\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/03\/19\/dubai-starts-real-estate-tokenization-pilot-forecasts-usd16b-market-by-2033\">high-profile real estate tokenization pilot<\/a>, saying that such misrepresentation may violate the emirate\u2019s virtual asset laws.<\/p>\n<p>The Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), in coordination with the Dubai Land Department (DLD), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vara.ae\/en\/regulations\/regulatory-notices\/vara-consumer-and-marketplace-alert-misrepresentation-of-participation-in-the-dld-real-estate-tokenisation-project\/\">said on Tuesday<\/a> that several entities have improperly suggested they are participating in the DLD\u2019s blockchain-based property title deed initiative, which launched as a limited pilot on March 19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo entities beyond those explicitly approved by DLD and VARA are authorised to participate,\u201d the regulator said. \u201cAny entity promoting their involvement in the project without formal confirmation\u2026 is misrepresenting their status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>VARA did not name any firms in the release.<\/p>\n<p>The tokenization initiative could account for 7% of all property deals, valued at 60 billion dirhams ($16 billion), by 2033, CoinDesk previously reported, as part of the city\u2019s broader push to position itself as a global tech and digital asset hub.<\/p>\n<p>This warning from VARA comes days before Token 2049 kicks off in the city.
