The contracts will be cash-settled and based on the CME CF XRP-Dollar Reference Rate, which tracks XRP\u2019s price daily at 4:00 p.m. London time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs innovation in the digital asset landscape continues to evolve, market participants continue to look to regulated derivatives products to manage risks across a wider range of tokens,\u201d Giovanni Vicioso, global head of cryptocurrency products at CME Group, said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cInterest in XRP and its underlying ledger (XRPL) has steadily increased as institutional and retail adoption for the network grows, and we are pleased to launch these new futures contracts to provide a capital-efficient toolset to support clients\u2019 investment and hedging strategies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The move comes after CME launched Solana (SOL) futures in March in addition to bitcoin (BTC) and ethereum (ETH) futures and options which have been trading on the exchange for a while.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CME Group is rolling out XRP futures on May 19th as it continues to expand its suite of cryptocurrency products, the world\u2019s largest derivatives exchange, said in a press release.
