Ark Invest, a fund management company, has sharply raised its price forecasts for Bitcoin, predicting the cryptocurrency<\/a> may reach $2.4 million at the end of 2030 in its most bullish scenario.<\/p>\n

The new target, set in an April 24 report<\/a> by research analyst David Puell, is a massive increase from the firm\u2019s former bull case target of $1.5 million.<\/p>\n

Institutional Money Set To Fuel Growth<\/h2>\n

Large financial institutions will be the biggest driver of Bitcoin\u2019s future price growth, as per the report of ARK. In the best-case scenario, estimates the firm, Bitcoin can grab 6.5% of the $200 trillion non-gold global financial market. This institutional adoption is the backbone of ARK\u2019s positive vision.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin\u2019s price is currently at around $93,700,<\/a> having bounced back from a 2025 low of $75,150. For Bitcoin to hit ARK\u2019s bull case target, it would have to increase more than 25 times its current value within the next five years.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin could reach between $300,000 and $1.5 million by 2030 under ARK Investment\u2019s bear, base, and bull case scenarios, according to its Big Ideas 2025 report. The projections are based on expected capital inflows from institutional investment, adoption as digital gold, demand\u2026<\/p>\n

Digital Gold Status Could Boost Value<\/h2>\n

The second key driver in ARK\u2019s price thesis is the increasing acceptance of Bitcoin as \u201cdigital gold.\u201d The company expects Bitcoin to potentially claim up to 60% of gold\u2019s $18 trillion market cap<\/a> by 2030.<\/p>\n

This would be a huge change in investors\u2019 perception of the cryptocurrency, placing it in competition with the world\u2019s oldest store of value. If this occurs, it would make a huge contribution to the price appreciation of Bitcoin, as stated in the report.<\/p>\n

Emerging Markets Offer Growth Potential<\/p>\n

ARK\u2019s estimates that the price appreciation being driven by Bitcoin as a \u201csafe haven\u201d in emerging economies may represent up to nearly 14% of the cost growth in its bull case projection.<\/p>\n

Puell cited this as having \u201cthe greatest potential for capital accrual,\u201d referring to the fact that Bitcoin can store wealth safe from inflation and devaluation of money in unstable monetary regimes.<\/p>\n

The report also takes into account nation-state adoption and corporate treasury strategies as other factors that will contribute to the value of Bitcoin in the future.<\/p>\n

Even Bear Case Sees Significant Growth<\/p>\n

Although the $2.4 million bull case has been making headlines, ARK\u2019s more modest estimates still indicate significant growth. The company increased its \u201cbear case\u201d from $300,000 to $500,000 and its \u201cbase case\u201d from $710,000 to $1.2 million.<\/p>\n

These targets would mean Bitcoin would need to increase at compound annual rates of 32% to 53% over to 2030. Such prolonged growth rates would be rare for an asset that has already reached trillion-dollar market capitalization.<\/p>\n

If Bitcoin breaks the $2.4 million barrier, then its market capitalization would hit almost $49 trillion based on about 20 million supply of bitcoins until 2030.<\/p>\n

This will place Bitcoin\u2019s market cap almost on a par with both the United States and China\u2019s combined GDP<\/a>, as well as capable of overtaking gold as the largest asset class in the world.<\/p>\n
