Source: TradingView<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Can ETH Do an XRP?<\/h2>\n<p>Although it failed to near, match, or break its all-time high of over $4,800 this time around, ETH also went on the offensive after the US elections. It skyrocketed from $2,400 to a multi-year peak of its own at just over $4,000. However, it couldn\u2019t keep the momentum going and started to lose value rapidly in Q1 2025, which became its <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/crypto-bloodbath-vs-gold-boom-what-q1s-45-eth-crash-reveals\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">worst<\/a> in quite some time.<\/p>\n<p>April saw more pain as ether plunged to $1,400, thus <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ethereum-wipes-out-7-years-of-gains-in-crash-to-1400-where-next-for-eth\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">erasing<\/a> roughly seven years of gains. Despite recovering to almost $1,800 as of press time, ETH is still below the pre-election levels. It\u2019s down by nearly $2,000 since July when the Ethereum ETFs went live in the US.<\/p>\n<p>The painful landscape is visible from a lot of angles \u2013 whales <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/galaxy-digital-whales-institutions-retail-sell-off-ethereum-how-low-can-eth-go\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">selling<\/a>, Galaxy Digital <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ethereum-investors-capitulate-prominent-crypto-giant-sells-eth-to-buy-sol\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">replacing<\/a> ETH with SOL, large withdrawals from the ETFs, and so on. Although it still couldn\u2019t break its 2018 ATH, it came inches away. Despite the recent market-wide correction, Ripple\u2019s cross-border token is still well above $2 and has <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/2-months-later-chatgpt-revisits-whether-ripple-xrp-can-overtake-ethereum-eth\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">narrowed<\/a> the gap with ETH in terms of market cap.<\/p>\n<p>CryptoBusy compared XRP\u2019s sideways price movements, which went on for years, to ETH\u2019s lagging performance as of now and predicted that \u201cinstitutional demand\u201d for the latter will soon rise.<\/p>\n<h2>When is The Next Leg Up?<\/h2>\n<p>Wess told their 100,000 followers on X that ETH inflows are \u201cspiking,\u201d adding that the market is yet to catch up. The self-proclaimed \u201cmeme coin degen\u201d said Ethereum just witnessed its biggest daily inflow into accumulation addresses on April 22, which suggests that \u201csome serious players are clearly loading up while price hovers around $1,750.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They added that on-chain activity is picking up, with active addresses <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ethereums-network-activity-heats-up-with-a-10-increase-in-active-addresses\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">jumping<\/a> by 10% in two days.
