After all, such action reduces the liquidity and visibility of the affected token and damages its reputation. So, nothing out of the blue, right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What followed, though, was rather unexpected and, according to several <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/coinank_com\/status\/1917433731721331196\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">posts<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> on X, could be attributed to a \u201cshort squeeze.\u201d After the delisting announcement, many traders supposedly opened short positions, anticipating a substantial price decline for ALPACA. As mentioned, such a drop indeed transpired, but only briefly, and the subsequent rally might have caused major damage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This, in turn, led to a short squeeze, where traders who had opened short positions, expecting the price to go south, were forced to buy back tokens to avoid further losses and liquidations, which pushed the asset further upwards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It\u2019s important to note that a substantial price decline often follows a short squeeze as the forced buying eventually ends, and there\u2019s little demand left to sustain the inflated valuation. This, combined with <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">profit-taking by<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> traders, typically intensifies the subsequent downward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Another factor potentially contributing to the rally is the burning program Alpaca Finance has adopted. The project has <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AlpacaFinance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">completed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> 214 weekly <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">buyback<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> and burn events, cumulatively removing almost 35 million ALPACA tokens from circulation, representing approximately 18.6% of the maximum supply.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Fundamental principles of economics dictate that reduced supply<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, combined with<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> steady or increasing demand<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, pushes<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> prices higher.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Traders Should be Careful<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">One <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">important<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> element suggesting that ALPACA\u2019s pump might <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">be abruptly suspended<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in the short term is the Relative Strength Index (RSI).
