The popular X user Ali Martinez <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ali_charts\/status\/1918275276842385452\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">revealed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that large investors (those holding <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">between<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> 10 million and 100 million coins) have purchased approximately 900 million XRP (worth just south of $2 billion at current rates) over that timeframe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The analyst further clarified that this group of market participants now owns around 7.77 billion tokens. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> refers to 13% of XRP\u2019s circulating supply and equals more than $17 billion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is a <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">common<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> theory (or at least a suspicion) that whales sometimes have inside knowledge or early access to <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">important<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> information that could impact the price of a particular digital asset. Over the past few days, there has been rising speculation that Ripple is about to acquire the stablecoin issuer Circle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to a Bloomberg <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/why-was-ripples-5-billion-takeover-offer-rejected-by-circle-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">report<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, the company made an offer of <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">somewhere<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> between $4 billion and $5 billion which was supposedly rejected. X users, though, continued to speculate on the matter. JackTheRippler, for instance, <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RippleXrpie\/status\/1918078053206438321\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">cited<\/span><\/a> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">a recent coverage which claims that<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Ripple\u2019s CEO Brad Garlinghouse has raised the proposal to a whopping $20 billion.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As of this moment, both companies remain silent on the topic, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and there is nothing official<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Getting Ready for This?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Another reason large investors may be increasing their exposure to Ripple\u2019s native token is the growing likelihood of a spot XRP ETF <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">being approved<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in the US. After all, the financial vehicle would allow investors a simplified way to gain exposure to the asset, which may increase the demand and positively influence the valuation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Purchasing a spot ETF is as easy as buying stocks, and everything <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">is handled<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> through an authorized brokerage account. Investors get shares in the fund, which <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">in turn<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> holds and stores the actual cryptocurrency on their behalf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Earlier this week, Eric Balchunas (Senior ETF Analyst for Bloomberg) <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1917444433282490606\/photo\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">estimated<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> an 85% probability of such a product going live sometime in 2025. Shortly after, he <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/xrp-doge-ltc-and-sol-etfs-launching-this-summer-this-expert-says-so\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">hinted<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that the potential green light might come during the summer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The approval odds on Polymarket are slightly different but remain high.
