Ethereum Co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, has called for a reset as he introduced a new proposal outlining how in five years from now, \u201cEthereum can become close to as simple as Bitcoin.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Insisting on simplifying the protocol, Buterin\u2019s blog published on 3 May 2025 \u2013 Simplifying the L1<\/a> said, \u201cOne of the best things about Bitcoin is how\u00a0beautifully simple<\/em> the protocol is.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cKeeping the protocol simple brings a number of benefits that are key to Bitcoin or Ethereum being a credibly neutral<\/a> and globally trusted base layer,\u201d the blog said.<\/p>\n

According to the Ethereum co-founder, \u201cCaring about simplicity is, like decentralization, a short-term cost for the sake of benefits that do not appear immediately. But in the long term, it will be worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n
