Trump to UK: It\u2019s Not You, It\u2019s US<\/h2>\n

The tariffs, which erased trillions from global markets, were aimed at pressuring U.S. trading partners into renegotiating deals, strengthening the hand of American diplomats. Details surrounding the pending US-UK trade agreement remain unclear for now.<\/p>\n

It could be that British taxes on American tech companies will be lifted, along with Britain\u2019s own tariffs on US cars and automobiles, in exchange for lower tariffs on British goods in the US.<\/p>\n

While officials \u2013 including Trump himself \u2013 promise that the agreement will benefit both countries, it\u2019s hard to escape the need for such a trade deal, which indicates a fundamental shift in global business.<\/p>\n

In fact, Arthur Hayes, founder of BitMex, foresees the \u2018fall of the American hegemonic empire\u2019 \u2013 but big things ahead for Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

Hayes thinks that Bitcoin\u2019s potential hinges on the fact that, under Trump, the US government is undertaking a major rewrite of the global financial system, something last done in the 1970s when the US abandoned the gold standard.<\/p>\n
