Brazil\u2019s M\u00e9liuz<\/a> has taken a bold step by adding Bitcoin to its corporate treasury. The fintech firm, the first in the country, spent $28.4\u202fmillion to buy 274.52\u202fBTC at an average price of $103,604 each. Now, its total stash stands at 320\u202fBTC, worth more than $33\u202fmillion today.<\/p>\n

Shareholders Give Green Light<\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to reports, on May\u202f15 investors at a M\u00e9liuz meeting voted in favor of turning the company into a Bitcoin treasury corporation<\/a>. A clear majority backed the plan. Israel Salmen, M\u00e9liuz\u2019s executive chairman, confirmed the move on social media platform X.<\/p>\n

The firm says this strategy will be central to how it runs its finances from now on.<\/p>\n

Focus On Bitcoin Per Share<\/strong><\/h2>\n

M\u00e9liuz plans to boost its Bitcoin<\/a> holdings through cash generation, smart corporate structures and selective use of financial tools. It already made its first purchase on March\u202f6,\u202f2025\u201445.73\u202fBTC.<\/p>\n

Now every share carries a bit more crypto optionality. The company wants to grow its BTC per share number, seeing it as a way to manage inflation and the risks that come from swings in the Brazilian real.<\/p>\n

Even in the United States, there\u2019s talk of creating a national Bitcoin reserve. Companies around the world seem to be treating Bitcoin not just as a trade, but as a core part of their financial playbook.<\/p>\n

In the months ahead, all eyes will be on how M\u00e9liuz weathers Bitcoin\u2019s ups and downs. Will shareholders applaud a rising BTC per share? Or will they grow uneasy if the price slips?<\/p>\n
