{"id":27546,"date":"2025-05-19T18:46:51","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T18:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=27546"},"modified":"2025-05-19T18:46:51","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T18:46:51","slug":"jpmorgan-to-allow-clients-to-buy-bitcoin-says-jamie-dimon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=27546","title":{"rendered":"JPMorgan To Allow Clients To Buy Bitcoin, Says Jamie Dimon"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Clients of JPMorgan Chase (JPM) will soon have the option to buy bitcoin BTC, according to CEO Jamie Dimon, who spoke at the bank&#8217;s annual Investor Day on Monday, signaling a shift in how the firm approaches the asset.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are going to allow you to buy it,\u201d Dimon told shareholders, though he added the bank has no plans to hold the asset in custody.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Dimon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/01\/13\/jamie-dimon-still-sees-no-value-in-bitcoin\">long known for his skepticism of cryptocurrency<\/a>, doubled down in his closing remarks, saying he\u2019s still \u201cnot a fan\u201d of bitcoin, mainly because of its use for illegal activities, including sex trafficking and money laundering<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>He also pushed back on the industry&#8217;s hype around blockchain technology, arguing it&#8217;s less important than it&#8217;s made out to be \u2014 even as JPMorgan continues building in the space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been talking about blockchain for 12 to 15 years,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We spend too much on it.
