But the results are the results. When given a slider and asked to advise the US government on the right proportion of Bitcoin and gold, subjects were very reluctant to put that slider on 0% Bitcoin and 100% gold. Instead, they settled around 10% Bitcoin,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The recommended proportions of BTC dropped significantly with age, which was not surprising given the inverse relationship the organization found in a previous survey between age and Bitcoin ownership.<\/p>\n<p>Satoshi Action Fund co-founder Dennis Porter <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Dennis_Porter_\/status\/1924620058040356918\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">said<\/a> he didn\u2019t believe it at first, adding that:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAmericans just don\u2019t care about gold that much, and most people are inclined towards diversification when given the choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The survey, which ran between February and mid-March, was conducted online, and participants were paid. However, the survey and data collection company Qualtrics was asked to match the US Census distribution in terms of age, gender, race, income, education, and geography as closely as possible, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The study also revealed that around 66% of respondents were neutral-to-positive about Donald Trump\u2019s strategic Bitcoin reserve.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Many of you are skeptical of our finding, released this morning that 4 in 5 Americans would convert some US gold reserves into bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah right! But the results are the results.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JzaBGwdfBq\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/JzaBGwdfBq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Troy Cross (@thetrocro) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thetrocro\/status\/1924552097565180107?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">May 19, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>Room for Diversification<\/h2>\n<p>The United States holds the world\u2019s largest stockpile of gold reserves, with 8,133 tons worth more than $830 billion at current market prices.<\/p>\n<p>Uncle Sam also holds around 207,189 BTC worth around $22 billion, less than 3% of its gold reserves, <a href=\"https:\/\/treasuries.bitbo.io\/usa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">according<\/a> to BiTBO, so there is plenty of room for diversification.<\/p>\n<p>White House adviser <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/trump-names-bo-hines-executive-director-of-presidential-digital-asset-advisory-committee\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Bo Hines<\/a> has floated a new strategy that the Treasury might start buying Bitcoin using profits from its gold reserves. This plan, if enacted, could lead to the purchase of up to 1 million BTC over five years.<\/p>\n<p>He referenced Senator Lummis\u2019 Bitcoin Act of 2025, stating in March, \u201cIf we actually realize the gains on these [gold certificate holdings], that would be a budget-neutral way to acquire more Bitcoin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Health Secretary Robert F.
