Recall that the US Fed <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/bitcoin-reacts-to-us-federal-reserves-decision-to-maintain-interest-rates\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">refused<\/a> to lower the rates on several consecutive FOMC meetings but is anticipated to do so later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Vandell believes monetary expansion has begun, which will unlock the next phase and perhaps drive further capital into riskier investment options like cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Here\u2019s why altcoin season hasn\u2019t started yet,<\/p>\n<p>rates stayed higher for longer,<\/p>\n<p>extending the business cycle,<\/p>\n<p>But monetary expansion is picking up,<\/p>\n<p>The next phase is coming. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lAXa5otv3K\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/lAXa5otv3K<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Vandell | Black Swan Capitalist (@vandell33) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/vandell33\/status\/1925764507273482549?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">May 23, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Crypto Rover <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/rovercrc\/status\/1925602305883480276\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">asked<\/a> his 1.2 million followers on X why this cycle would be any different from all the previous ones, in which there was always an altseason at the end.<\/p>\n<p>Coinvo <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ByCoinvo\/status\/1925605074065400297\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">believes<\/a> the best time to get rich via altcoins is coming, even though it might not feel like it now.<\/p>\n<p>AltcoinGordon noted that ETH\u2019s climb to and just over $2,700 is a clear sign that the altcoin season is upon us. The asset was among the poorest performers up until mid-April when it plunged from $4,000 to under $1,400 since the December peak. The higher it goes, the more BTC dominates the market, and vice versa. After the US elections, it flew to almost 62% on TradingView but plunged below 55% in early December when alts were skyrocketing.<\/p>\n<p>However, it has been gradually increasing in the past few months and <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/bitcoin-dominance-at-60-why-this-time-its-way-more-impactful-than-in-2021\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">peaked<\/a> above 65% on May 7.
